Sunflower Skins

Mission Statement

Sunflower Skins embraces a purposeful-play lifestyle in order to explore social and political issues, particularly mental health care, in a non-threatening environment;  I play with Lego, plastic dinosaurs, Giant Microbes, plush animals, and various other toys to focus on difficult topics in a safe, accessible way. Mindfulness of childlike behaviour, bodily instinct, individual desires and reactions, and just plain silliness reveal a more honest vision of this absurd world, and by letting our adult imaginations wander, exaggerate, dissect, and reclaim we encourage vulnerability, creating a deeper understanding of the Self as a non-linear whole of child and adult.

  1. I love seeing the little whale peeking out from the centre of this safe haven, surrounded by friends and smiles!
